A natural full-grain face is not uniform the way synthetic leather is. Wrinkles, scars, insect marks and uneven grain are all normal.

Natural face versus synthetic
Unlike synthetic leather, natural full-grain cowhide does not have a repeating pattern. Wrinkles, scars, insect marks and uneven grain are all within the normal range.
These marks are not defects
Leather patches will inevitably show vein lines, uneven areas, wrinkles and insect bites. These fall outside the scope of quality defects — in fact they are what gives the material its original character.
Recommended inspection basis
We recommend separating structural defects from natural characteristics in your inspection standard: cracking on cut, delamination and uneven edge paint are structural; variation in natural grain is not. We can write both categories into the approved-sample note at sampling stage to avoid disputes later.
