Material: black plain-grain cowhide
The base is black plain-grain cowhide: an even, finely textured face that does not compete with the relief graphic, leaving the visual weight where it belongs. The matte finish reads soft and premium under light rather than cheap and glossy — and it is easier to pass eco and restricted-substance testing, which suits mid-to-high-end anniversary and collection lines.
Craft: laser engraving with colour fill
The sense of relief comes from laser engraving rather than pressing: the laser cuts depth layer by layer to the artwork, leaving clean recess walls, and colour is then filled into those recesses with screen printing added where needed — so lettering and lines read with strong contrast and clear layers. Against conventional embossing, laser offers higher precision, supports very fine lines and graduated depth, and needs only a new artwork rather than a new tool — quicker to sample and more flexible in small runs.
